At that time, as previously announced, Emile R. Breaux will become president and CEO of AG Baton Rouge, succeeding longtime President and CEO J.H. “Jay” Campbell Jr. Campbell has served AG Baton Rouge as president for more than 20 years of his 40-plus-year career with the grocery cooperative. Campbell will remain executive chairman and will be a member of the company’s board of directors.
Breaux joined AG in June 1994 and has served in a number of capacities, including information services, procurement, sales, marketing and, most recently, EVP and COO.
A native of New Orleans, Breaux earned a bachelor’s degree at Southeastern Louisiana University and an MBA from the University of New Orleans.
Over AG Baton Rouge’s nearly 56-year history, it has had only three president/CEOs: Sam Politz, who served for 16 years; Hillar C. Moore Jr., who served for 19 years; and Campbell, 20-plus.
The retailer-owned company continues in its mission of “the support and success of the independent retail grocer.” It serves grocers in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
